Last weekend in June, despite a rather small number of children, there was a lot going on at our day care centre in Bogenhausen. In order to show “real” scenes from the everyday life of our private, bilingual institution on the one hand and to protect the privacy of the cocon children on the other hand, a handful of child models together with their parents and carers were allowed to let off steam in the spacious premises and open spaces of cocon Bogenhausen in Buschingstraße.
After the relaunch of the new cocon website at the beginning of the year, the focus was now on the creation of our own visuals on 25 and 26 June 2022.
To make our communication as authentic as possible, the children experienced a typical cocon day. With educational activities, starting with English and French, through art and music to STEM projects. Of course, free play was not neglected either. At lunchtime, we had a relaxed meal with all the children of the shoot, as usual, warmly supervised by our educators. None of the children let themselves be disturbed by the camera team and so all the kids enjoyed fresh delicacies as well as pasta with tomato sauce. As a matter of course, the usual cocon porcelain dishes and cloth napkins were also used, as one mother voiced what many must have thought: “What a pity that cocon is so far away from us!”
Another part of the weekend was taken up by general image pictures and the staff shoot. Even though our team is very well established, we are always happy to have support. Capturing the unique cohesion in pictures, the interaction with children and parents and last but not least with each other in the team, was the task of our photographer Anna McMaster, whom we have already learned to appreciate from previous shootings and who stood behind the camera for cocon on both days with a lot of power and great empathy for her small and big stars.
